After seeing talks on Kanban development processes given by Northwest Cadence at the Microsoft TechEd conference in 2012 (Introduction to Kanban and Metrics That Matter: Improving Lean and Agile, Kanban and Scrum), Mann hired the Microsoft partner to help implement application lifecycle management (ALM) with a focus on using Kanban, a visual process management technique.
“For an immensely successful organization like Dealogic to undertake such a disruptive change to better serve their customers and stay ahead of their competition was a big challenge,” says Cheryl Hammond, ALM Consultant and Practices Team Lead, Northwest Cadence. “We were able to bring expertise in Team Foundation Server and agile processes like Kanban to help them continue their success.”
This is a major improvement to the months in between updates that were common in the past. “The teams are engaged with the business much earlier and can make sure the project is aligned with business needs,” says Mann.
